A smell brought them all the way to the fanciest shop in town where Papa and hound made a mess. Papa bear and the hound begin finding clues and they could of asked the owl if it wasn't sleeping. Brother and Sister Bear call in cousin Fred with his hound and detective gear to help find it. In The Berenstain Bears and the Missing Honey Papa Bears blackberry honey goes missing. While there's some humorous aspects to the story, this isn't the one I'd want to see my own kids playing out in the house after having it read to them. (and while you get the idea that Papa is going to have to pay to clean it up, the point is, throwing money at the problem really makes no difference in the long run - you shouldn't be destroying other people's property to begin with).Īnd of course Mama Bear was right all along. Rather than ask the owl (as Mama suggests) he and the cubs go on a wild chase to find the culprit, doing untold amounts of vandalism that really isn't funny at all to the store owners who are going to find a huge mess. In this particular book, Papa Bear wakes up and finds his special honey is missing, but there are several clues. *shakes head* Sometimes I really don't like these as I think that while meant to be funny, the fact that Papa Bear is so clueless sometimes feeds into the current media trope of the "stupid male" too much.
